Cancellation Policy

ToolBoard Rentals
Renter cancellations
- Before owner accepts: cancel anytime in the app; no charge.
- After owner accepts, before pickup: cancel up to 4 hours before the scheduled start time at no cost; the payment authorization is released back to your card within 7 days.
- Within 4 hours of pickup or after: cancellations may incur a fee at the owner's discretion (typically 1 day's rental).
Owner cancellations
- Owners may cancel at any time before pickup. Frequent cancellations may affect listing visibility and account standing.
- If an owner cancels, the renter is refunded in full and the payment authorization released.
TradeBoard Jobs
Client cancellations
- Before contractor accepts: cancel in the app; no charge.
- After contractor accepts, before work begins: contact the contractor directly. Cancellation terms depend on the agreement (some contractors charge a callout fee).
- After work has begun: the contractor is entitled to payment for time and materials expended. Resolve through the in-app bill.
Contractor cancellations
- Contractors should cancel as early as possible. Frequent cancellations may affect listing visibility and account standing.
CommunityBoard Posts
You can delete your own community posts at any time in the app. Paid posting fees are non-refundable once the post is published.
Account Cancellation
You can deactivate your Switchboard account at any time in Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account. Active rentals and jobs must be completed or cancelled before account deletion. Transaction records are retained for 7 years for tax compliance.
Subscription Cancellation
Switchboard does not currently offer paid subscriptions — there is nothing to cancel.
